Cases soar as dengue kills two more in Punjab

Dengue fever claimed two more lives in Punjab including one in Lahore while infecting another 347 people across the province on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Punjab Health Secretary Sikandar Baloch said that 1,401 dengue patients are being treated in Lahore’s hospitals and 2,036 across the province.
Anti-dengue teams discarded dengue larva from 731 sites in Lahore and the administration is disseminating anti-dengue measures among the public via prayers leaders in mosques.
In Islamabad, 48 people were infected by dengue (11 from rural areas and 37 from urban) taking the tally to 4,247.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 190 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours including 147 in the provincial capital Peshawar, 10 in Haripur and six in Mardan.
Moreover, 236 patients also successfully recovered from the dengue fever virus.
