Pakistan will continue to facilitate talks between US and Iran: Dar
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar said on Sunday that Pakistan would continue to play its role for peace in the world, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Giving a briefing to newsmen, FM Dar said that Pakistan would continue to facilitate negotiations between the US and Iran.
He stated that the talks continued for 24 hours. “There were several rounds of comprehensive and constructive talks between the two countries,” he said, and expressed the hope that both Iran and the US would play a constructive role for peace in the world.
The foreign minister said that he and Field Marshal Asim Munir assisted in the negotiations.
He thanked both the US and Iranian delegations for participating in the talks. “Both countries responded positively to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s request.”
FM Dar also thanked the delegations for acknowledging Pakistan’s role for peace.
