IHC to hear appeal of former PTI MNA Abdul Latif in May 9 case
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is scheduled to hear on Tuesday the appeal of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly Abdul Latif, who was convicted in a case related to the May 9 incidents.
According to court details, a division bench headed by Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro will take up the appeal. The IHC has issued notices to the relevant parties and sought their responses in the matter.
The appeal challenges the sentence awarded by an anti-terrorism court, which had convicted Abdul Latif in the May 9 case. The former MNA had surrendered before the court and subsequently filed an appeal against his sentencing.
The hearing is expected to take place tomorrow.
