Two cops shot dead in Mehrabpur gun attack

Two policemen were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire on them in Mehrabpur and escaped, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

The police post where the cops were deployed was located at Bhairav Road in Mehrabpur.  

The deceased policemen have been identified as Ghulam Hussain Rajpar and Saeed Solangi. They were performing night duty at Teal Nahar Checkpost when they were targeted.

The assailants escaped after the incident. Having been informed, police high-ups reached the crime scene and started an investigation after cordoning off the area.

Law enforcers are looking at all angles to know the reason for the attack. Security has been stepped in the surrounding areas.

Police officials vowed to apprehend the fleeing attackers and bring them to justice.
