Former Muridke municipal chairman shot dead in armed attack

A former chairman of the Muridke municipal committee was shot dead by unidentified armed men in a firing incident, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to sources, the assailants intercepted the vehicle of Mian Shabbir Ahmed near Kala Shah Kaku and opened indiscriminate fire. He died at the scene from his injuries.

Eyewitnesses said the victim’s car was riddled with bullets in the attack.

The gunmen fled the scene while brandishing their weapons.

Police reached the site soon after receiving information about the incident, collected evidence and launched a search for the attackers.

The motive behind the killing and the identity of the assailants have not yet been established.
