PMDC issues new guidelines for medical and dental college admissions

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has issued important instructions regarding admissions to medical and dental colleges, making it mandatory for all admissions to be conducted through designated admitting universities under a centralised system.

According to PMDC, admissions to all government and private medical and dental colleges must strictly follow the prescribed rules, warning that any admissions made in violation of these regulations will be considered illegal.

The council said students who secure admission outside the approved framework will not be registered.

The PMDC has also announced deadlines for admissions.

The last date for admissions to government medical colleges has been set as December 31 each year, while admissions to private medical colleges must be completed by January 31.

For dental colleges, the last date for government institutions has been fixed as February 15, and for private dental colleges as February 28.

The council clarified that the responsibility for any violation of the admission rules will rest with the concerned admitting university or institution.

PMDC officials said the measures aim to ensure transparency, uniformity and merit in the medical and dental admission process across the country.
