Fire breaks out at Foreign Ministry

A fire broke out in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs late on Thursday, 24NewsHD TV channel reports.

According to a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said short-circuit was the reason for the fire which was brought under control with no damage to ‘any record of infrastructure’.

The Capital Development Authority staff were dismantling an old air conditioning plant when the incident occurred, she added.

However, she added the blaze was brought under control and no damage to “any record of infrastructure” was reported.

“The location of the incident is outside the ministry’s main building and therefore no damage has been reported to any record or infrastructure,” the spokesperson added.
