Punjab govt, flour mills announce Ramadan relief package

The Punjab government and the Pakistan Flour Mills Association on Saturday agreed to provide relief to the public during the holy month of Ramadan following successful negotiations between the two sides.

According to the announcement, flour will be made available at reduced rates in 64 Sahulat Bazaars (subsidy markets) and Ramadan subsidy markets set up across Punjab to ensure affordability for citizens during the fasting month.

Under the relief package, a 10-kilogram bag of flour will be sold for Rs850 at these subsidy markets and Ramadan bazaars.

In addition, flour mills will establish 1,550 dedicated flour sale points across the province. At these points, a 10-kilogram bag of flour will be available for Rs905, while a 20-kilogram bag will be sold for Rs1,810.

Authorities have assured that the supply of flour to shops across Punjab will continue as usual to prevent any shortage in the open market.

Group leader Asim Raza stated that the Pakistan Flour Mills Association stands shoulder to shoulder with the Punjab government in providing relief to the people during Ramadan.
