FIA uncovers wheat theft in Faisalabad; 2,000 sacks filled with soil found in stocks

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered a major fraud at a Pasco warehouse in Tandlianwala Tehsil, Faisalabad, where thousands of sacks of wheat were found to have been replaced with sacks filled with soil.

During an inspection of warehouse stocks, the FIA team discovered that the wheat sacks contained soil instead of actual wheat, exposing a large-scale theft. Sources said approximately 2,000 sacks of wheat are missing, with an estimated embezzlement of Rs70 million.

Pasco officials confirmed that an investigation into the theft is currently under way. Legal action is being taken against those responsible, and the FIA has intensified its probe to determine how the fraud was carried out.

Authorities said the raid marks a significant step in addressing corruption and theft within the wheat distribution system, which is critical for ensuring food security in the region. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
