Ishaq Dar vows transparency, efficiency in energy markets
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in Pakistan's energy markets, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Ishaq Dar expressed the resolve while chairing a meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee in Islamabad on Wednesday to review the existing pricing structure of the oil and gas sector.
The committee discussed pricing framework under the applicable petroleum policy regime.
Members of the committee examined the current mechanisms and explored reform options aimed at improving affordability, sustainability and sectoral performance.
Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Minister for Power, Minister for Petroleum, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Adviser on Privatization, Head of Power Sector Task Force and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue also attended the meeting.
Centre of Excellence for Autism within one year
Senator Ishaq Dar also chaired the first advisory board meeting on establishing a 300-student Centre of Excellence for Autism in Islamabad.
The initiative will provide world-class care, inclusion and support for children and their families.
The meeting reviewed timelines to complete the Centre within one year, in line with the Prime Minister's directions.
Discussions included specialized architecture, staffing, human resource frameworks, and service design, with emphasis on trained professionals and practitioners with hands-on experience in autism care.
The Deputy Prime Minister endorsed a comprehensive, national approach including background screening for those working with children to structured learning tools and evidence-based methods for early diagnosis and intervention.
He also stressed connecting the center with leading international centres to adopt best practices.
The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Health, Special Secretary Finance, senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs, and specialists in the field.
