Govt hints at resolving PTI's concerns on electoral reforms

The coalition government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday gave a hint at resolving all the concerns of the opposition party--Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the issue of electoral reforms.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the third meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms was held in Islamabad on Thursday.
PTI Senator Ali Zafar participated in the meeting on a video link and discussed the issues of the electoral reforms included in the agenda.
After the meeting, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar talked to the media and informed them about the details of the discussion with the PTI representative.
The federal law minister said 99 per cent of work on election reforms has been completed and mostly the points that were not agreed upon by both sides have now been resolved.
Law Minister Azam Tarar also confirmed that in the meeting concerns were expressed by PTI on a couple of issues.
He said that they will reach a solution together on the concerns expressed by the PTI in the meeting as these issues are not so sensitive that they cannot be resolved.
On a query about imposing a ban on a political party, the federal law minister said that the issue of a ban on political parties was removed from the agenda.
