Dar, Bilawal discuss situation in AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at the President's Office to discuss a range of issues of national importance.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, the two leaders exchanged views on the country's overall political and national situation during the meeting.

They also discussed matters relating to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, along with other issues of mutual interest.

The meeting comes amid ongoing consultations between the government's coalition partners on key national and political developments.

Dar meets ambassador to Nepal

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday met Pakistan's Ambassador-designate to Nepal, Amir Khan, and underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade, tourism, education and people-to-people exchanges.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, the deputy prime minister congratulated Amir Khan on his appointment as Pakistan's ambassador to Nepal and conveyed his best wishes for success in his new diplomatic assignment.

During the meeting, Dar directed the ambassador-designate to work closely with the Nepalese leadership and business community to enhance economic cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

The deputy prime minister also stressed the need to expand collaboration in trade, tourism, education and cultural exchanges to promote closer relations between Pakistan and Nepal.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Dar also appreciated Amir Khan's services as Director General (America) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acknowledging his contributions during his tenure.

The meeting concluded with the deputy prime minister expressing confidence that the ambassador-designate would play an important role in deepening Pakistan's diplomatic and economic engagement with Nepal.
