Resolution honouring armed forces, law enforcement martyrs submitted in Punjab Assembly
A resolution paying tribute to personnel of the Pakistan Army, police, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies martyred in the line of duty was submitted in the Punjab Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
The resolution was moved by MPA Raheela Khadim Hussain and called for the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for the country to be recognised as a proud chapter in Pakistan’s national history.
It said the sacrifices of martyrs formed the foundation of the country’s security, sovereignty and stability.
The resolution also recommended that the contributions and sacrifices of military and law enforcement personnel be included in educational curricula.
It said younger generations should be made aware of the courage, patriotism and sacrifices of those who died while defending the country and protecting its people.
The mover said formal recognition in textbooks and educational material would help preserve the memory of the martyrs and promote a stronger understanding of national service.
The resolution further recommended that the matter be referred to the relevant standing committee for detailed consideration.
