Three sentenced to nearly five years in Multan shop fraud case

An anti-corruption court has sentenced three men to four years and nine months in prison for using forged signatures and fabricated statements in an attempt to seize ownership of a shop, officials said.

The court convicted Javed Nasir, Subh Sadiq and Abdul Hameed in the fake documents case.

Each convict was also fined Rs60,000.

According to the Anti-Corruption Establishment, the court handed down the verdict after examining evidence collected during the investigation.

Officials said the accused had prepared forged signatures and false confessional documents to support their claim over the commercial property.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment said its investigation and documentary evidence played a key role in securing the convictions.

Regional Director Basharat Nabi said action against corruption would continue without discrimination.

He said people involved in corruption and document fraud would not be able to evade legal accountability.
