PM appreciates sacrifices by police, law enforcement agencies
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting of government officials and appreciated the sacrifices made by the police and law enforcement agencies tackling the TLP protest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Prime Minister said that armed groups would not be allowed to disturb the peace of the country.
Sources claimed Imran Khan took government officials into confidence about the decision to ban Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
Prime Minister Imran Khan said the state cannot be pressured by violent protests and directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and Minister for Regions Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri to take the nation into confidence over the prevailing situation in a press conference.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed the Prime Minister Imran Khan about the law and order situation in the country.
Earlier in the day, the French embassy in Pakistan advised all French nationals and companies to temporarily leave the country, after violent anti-France protests paralysed large parts of the country this week.
“Due to the serious threats to French interests in Pakistan, French nationals and French companies are advised to temporarily leave the country,” the embassy said in an email to French citizens.
