Ban on cultivation of tall crops challenged in Lahore High Court

A ban on the cultivation of tall crops by deputy commissioners of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur has been challenged in the Lahore High Court, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The court allowed the petitioner JDW Sugar Mill to file a petition in the Multan Bench.

Chief Justice of the High Court Alia Neelam heard JDW Sugar Mill's petition.

Assistant Advocate General Waqas Umar appeared on behalf of the Punjab government.

The petitioners’ lawyer submitted to the court that DC Rajanpur and DC Rahim Yar Khan have imposed a ban on the cultivation of tall crops.

The lawyer requested of the court that the petition against these orders of the deputy commissioners be heard at the principal seat.

However, the chief justice directed the petitioner to approach the concerned bench. 

For this, we will have to go to two different benches, the Multan Bench and the Bahawalpur Bench, the petitioner's lawyer pleaded.

You should file both the petitions at the Multan Bench, and the court allows you to do so, the Chief Justice directed.

The court disposed of the petition by allowing the petition to be filed at Multan Bench.
