Trans persons tortured by armed men in Lahore
The leg of a transgender person was broken when five men severely tortured two transgender people in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Race Course Police Station in Basti Saidan Shah.
The transgender persons alleged that one Zubair alias Zeno, along with his five accomplices, tortured them and threatened them to kill.
Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot. Rescue sources said that transgender people who were later identified as Nisha and Pareena were subject to torture.
The signs of torture were visible on their face and bodies. The armed accused were intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Later, they started aerial firing, and the Race Course police failed to take any action against them; instead, they extended full support to them.
Two injured dacoits arrested
Two dacoits were arrested in an injured condition, and two of their accomplices escaped from the scene during a police encounter in the Green Town area of Lahore.
According to details, police signalled four people who were riding on two motorcycles to stop, but instead they started firing straight at them and tried to escape.
Police chased the dacoits, after which two dacoits were arrested in an injured condition, and two escaped from the scene.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Shahrukh Khan said that the injured dacoits were later identified as Mohammad Waqas and Shehzada Imtiaz Masih.
Police said that these dacoits were involved in serious criminal cases and were police record holders.
