Grenades lobbed on police posts in Bannu

Unidentified armed assailants attacked police checkposts located in Baka Khel, Ghoriwala and Khojari area of Bannu late Friday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, the assailants who were riding a motorcycle lobbed hand-grenades on the police posts but local residents helped police thwart these attacks.

After retaliation from police, the attackers managed to flee from the scene. Further investigation was underway.

Earlier in February 2025, two policemen embraced martyrdom during an attack initiated by unidentified assailants on a police post in Fatehkhel area of Bannu.

The attack came after assault on a police station in Township area of Bannu which was repulsed.

A group of militants attacked the police station at around 12.30 am with light and heavy weapons. The attack was multi-pronged aiming to take over the building of the police station, but the cops deployed there retaliated effectively and forced the assailants to flee the place.
