PM Shehbaz rejects Biden’s misleading statement

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday rejected the statement attributed to American President Joe Biden as contrary to facts and misleading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Taking to Twitter, he penned, “Let me reiterate unequivocally: Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and we are proud that our nuclear assets have the best safeguards as per IAEA requirements. We take these safety measures with the utmost seriousness. Let no one have any doubts”.

Besides the Twitter message, PM said the past decades are proof that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state. “The nuclear program is managed by an efficient technical and foolproof command and control system”, he said.
He further stated that Pakistan has always shown a very responsible role regarding its nuclear weapons capability and Pakistan has fulfilled its commitment to international standards, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on non-proliferation, security and safety.
“The real threat to world peace is from the violations of the human rights of some states that violate the prevailing global values, extremist nationalism, and those who struggle against illegal occupations, he said, adding that the real threat to world peace is the arms race between the top nuclear nations.
