Not every trend deserves the hype, dermatologist reveals truth about viral skin treatments

Pakistani dermatologist Dr. Maleeha Jawaid has shared a refreshingly candid video about cosmetic procedures she personally loves, dislikes and completely avoids as a certified skin specialist.

Taking to Instagram, Dr. Maleeha shared a video discussing popular skincare treatments, beauty procedure and supplements that are currently trending online.

Captioning the video, Dr. Maleeha wrote, “Procedures I love and the ones I side eye a little :p. Some are a yes, always. Some are a depends on the patient. And some… respectfully, no thank you.”

Stressing the importance of personalized skincare, the dermatologist added that choosing the right treatment plan matters far more than simply trying every trending procedure.

In the clip, Dr. Maleeha reviewed several cosmetic procedures one by one while sharing short but honest reactions to each treatment.

She approved procedures like Botox and chemical peels, calling them effective when done correctly and according to a patient’s needs.

However, when discussing collagen supplements, the dermatologist gave a clear “absolutely not,” signaling her strong disagreement.

Talking about radiofrequency treatments combined with microneedling, Dr. Maleeha said she feels “fifty-fifty” about them.

One of her strongest reactions came while discussing the controversial BB Glow treatment, which she rejected completely with a “100% no.”

She also expressed strong disapproval of whitening injections.

Dr. Maleeha also spoke against buccal fat removal, a cosmetic surgery trend popular among celebrities and influencers.

On the other hand, she praised biostimulators and strongly approved CO2 laser treatments, revealing that she is personally very fond of the procedure due to its visible skin benefits.

The dermatologist also discussed Cosmelan Glow positively, while clarifying that practical and medically suitable skincare should always be prioritized over internet trends.
