70 PTI KP MPAs on Islamabad Police radar over multiple cases

Islamabad Police have identified 70 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of provincial assemblies (MPAs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as wanted in various cases, police sources confirmed on Wednesday.

Out of 92 PTI MPAs in KP Assembly, the majority are under investigation for serious offenses, including terrorism, murder of police personnel, and arson.

Police have compiled details of cases registered between 2022 and November 2024 across 18 different police stations in Islamabad.

Former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has the highest number of FIRs registered against him, totaling 52 cases.

Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi is named in a case for leading a violent protest in November 2024, while Minister for Local Government and Higher Education Meena Afridi faces four cases registered in Golra, Aabpara, Noon, and Secretariat police stations. Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Swati has a case registered at the Secretariat police station.

Other notable cases include 11 cases against the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and multiple cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) against Sohail Afridi and Faisal Tarakai of Swabi. Additionally, Asad Qaiser’s brother, Aqibullah, has been named in a case at the Secretariat police station.

Police sources said investigations are ongoing, and all listed PTI members remain under active scrutiny.
