Balochistan government signs agreement to digitize land records

The Government of Balochistan has signed an agreement with the Land Information Management System (LIMS) to digitize land records across the province, officials said Wednesday.

A simple but dignified ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti and the CEO of LIMS signed the agreement on behalf of the provincial government.

In the first phase, land records will be digitized using GIS technology in 25 districts of Balochistan.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said the initiative marks a significant milestone in the province’s history, emphasizing that digital land records will reduce disputes, limit corruption, and provide easier facilities for citizens.

“Transparency in land records is essential for sustainable development. This digital system will strengthen governance, facilitate land verification and transfers, and support timely project implementation to high standards,” Chief Minister Bugti said.

He added that the provincial government is committed to putting Balochistan on a path of development through reforms, modern technology, and transparent governance.
