Camp Rock 3 director fuels Demi Lovato cameo buzz
He confirms her deep involvement behind the scenes.
The director of the much-anticipated Camp Rock 3 has finally weighed in on speculation surrounding American singer and actor Demi Lovato’s involvement in the upcoming Disney Channel film, and while fans are still guessing about a cameo, it’s clear Lovato’s presence looms large over the project.

Demi, now 33, famously led the original Camp Rock films and is returning to the franchise in a key behind-the-scenes role as an executive producer for the third installment.
Although she has been spotted visiting the set, there has been no official confirmation on whether she will appear on screen, despite widespread fan theories.
In a recent interview, director Veronica Rodriguez spoke about Lovato’s influence on the film and carefully sidestepped confirming any on-screen appearance.
“You can’t really talk about Camp Rock or have a Camp Rock movie without referencing her. We love Mitchie,” Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly.

She went on to describe the film as a natural extension of the beloved franchise, saying, “Camp Rock 3 is a continuation of the story we know and love,” while remaining tight-lipped about any potential cameo.
“I can’t spoil anything. What I will say is that people should be excited to see some OG characters. You should feel all of those nostalgic vibes,” she added.
“We tried to put in as many things as we can into this movie, some iconic set pieces, the Jonas Brothers as Connect 3, and even Connie (Maria Canals-Barrera), Mitchie’s mom, has a bigger role in this movie. So Mitchie is very much a character in this movie, in this world, and we should feel her, for sure, because she’s iconic and beloved and is a part of the Camp Rock legacy.”

Rodriguez’s comments reinforce that even if Lovato doesn’t physically appear, her character’s influence is deeply embedded in the story.
Adding to the nostalgia, Joe Jonas recently revealed during a BuzzFeed puppy interview that Connie is now the owner of Camp Rock in the new film.
While the question of a Demi Lovato cameo remains unanswered, the director confirmed that Lovato played an active role in shaping the movie from a creative standpoint.

“It was really amazing to have her as an executive producer, and she was involved with the script,” Rodriguez shared.
“She was just really ensuring that this movie gives our audience all the Camp Rock amazingness that she was part of back in Camp Rock 1 and 2. And so she was a fantastic partner in making this as good as it can be.”
Demi Lovato has previously spoken about stepping into the executive producer role for the new movie musical, signaling a meaningful return to the franchise that launched a defining chapter of her career, even if her on-screen return is still under wraps.
