ECP reserves decision against KP CM Suhail Afridi for violation of rules

Election Commission of Pakistan reserved decision on petition and suo-motu notice against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Petitioner Babar Nawaz's lawyer Sajil Swati argued in court that the schedule for the by-election in NA-18 was released on October 8, 2025. 

From the release of the schedule to the notification of victory, all matters in the constituency come under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission, Sajil Swati further argued.

Four days before the by-election, the Chief Minister of KPK spoke in Chamba and this area is on the border of Haripur and Abbottabad. 

On November 19, the Chief Minister addressed a public gathering in Chamba, Sajil Swati argued.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that Umar Ayub is with me while Umar Ayub had been declared an absconder person at that time, Sajil Swati argued.

The Chief Minister said that the first exam is going to be held on November 23, 2025.

The Chief Minister said that on November 23 and we are not competing with anyone else Umar Ayub is competing with his wife and his wife will get more votes than her husband, Sajil Swati further argued.

Sohail Afridi clearly said that I am sending a message to the police and administration. 

The Chief Minister said that I am sending a clear message that if any mischief happens on November 23, votes are changed, then you will not see the light of the morning. 

The Chief Minister said that if something happens in the morning, you will not see the darkness of the night.

Sohail Afridi addressed the public gathering as the Chief Minister. 

In his address, the Chief Minister said that I have already approved many points from the charter you have sent. 

The Chief Minister violated the constitution and the law.
