Groundwork done to launch CPEC Phase-II: Asim Bajwa
Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPEC) and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Asim Saleem Bajwa Wednesday said that great deal of groundwork has been done to launch Phase-II of CPEC.
In a post on his twitter account, he said, “Some detractors giving a false impression of #CPEC being slowed.”
He said, “Not only pace of work on projects picked up recently, a great deal of groundwork done to launch phase-2.”

Asim Saleem Bajwa also announced that coming soon $7.2 billion project of Expansion and Reconstruction of existing Line ML-1 (Rehabilitation & Up-gradation of Karachi-Lahore Peshawar (ML-1) Railway Track (1,872 kms), two hydel power projects investing $3.5 billion, Special Economic Zones and agriculture.
He said, “Coming soon; $7.2 Bn ML-1, two Hydel Power projects investing $3.5 Bns, SEZs,&agriculture. Scope actually enhanced.”
