March 17, 2023 10:32 PM

The Sindh education ministry has sacked three teachers who were working as journalists in different newspapers and news channels in the province, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

These teachers were drawing salaries from the Sindh government, but not working. The sacked were accused of misusing their media link as a tool for blackmail and extortion, the ministry said.

According to a notification issued by Sindh Education Secretary Akbar Laghari, three school teachers who do not perform their duties in different schools across the province have been sacked.

Interestingly, the fired employees have allegedly been found associated with different electronic and print media as journalists.

Among the three teachers, one is from Shikarpur and two are from Lyari and Sadar areas of Karachi.

They include Barkat Ali, Muhammad Amin Hussain and Hasnain Ali.

Reportedly, the action against the journalists was taken after some of them started blackmailing the education minister himself who vowed not to surrender to such elements.
