New ministers and advisors sworn into KP cabinet

New ministers and advisers were sworn into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, a ceremony was held at the Governor House, where Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the newly appointed members.

The cabinet expansion came a day after Governor Faisal Karim Kundi approved a summary sent by the provincial government regarding the appointment of six new ministers, four advisers and eight special assistants.

The formal oath-taking ceremony took place today, following the approval of recommendations submitted by the provincial administration.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had prepared a summary containing 18 names for inclusion in the expanded cabinet. The move is being viewed as an attempt to make the provincial government more active, balanced and politically representative.

The newly appointed provincial ministers include Nazir Ahmed Abbasi, Shakeel Ahmed, Muhammad Adnan Qadri, Muhammad Arif, Tariq Mahmood Aryani and Shafiullah Jan. Shafiullah Jan had previously been serving as special assistant on information before being elevated to a full ministerial position.

The advisers appointed to assist the chief minister include Pir Musawar Khan, Liaquat Ali Khan, Humayun Khan and Mian Muhammad Umar.

Meanwhile, the newly inducted special assistants are Tariq Saeed, Muhammad Usman, Tufail Anjum, Iftikharullah Jan, Samiullah Khan, Malik Adil Iqbal, Muhammad Khurshid and Muhammad Israr.
