Petroleum dealers assure support for Govt’s Fuel Relief Scheme
Petroleum dealers and pump associations welcomed the government’s fuel relief scheme and pledged their full cooperation in a meeting with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.
The State Bank of Pakistan affirmed that claims under the Fuel Relief Scheme would be processed within 48 hours. Ali Pervaiz Malik said funds have been allocated for three months of the scheme, with Rs25 billion for the first month already given to the State Bank.
He added that close coordination among all stakeholders was essential for the effective, transparent, and timely implementation of the scheme. The petroleum minister appreciated the dealers’ cooperation and briefed them on the implementation procedures, relevant concerns and other key aspects of the scheme.
According to the Ministry of Information Technology, a special control room has also been established to facilitate petrol pumps and address their complaints. Petrol pumps can contact 9772 for assistance related to the Fuel Relief Scheme.
Petroleum dealers described the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme as a significant step towards providing relief to the public.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary Petroleum Division, Additional Secretary Petroleum Division, Additional Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Director General Oil, Executive Director State Bank of Pakistan, representatives of OGRA and OCAC, and representatives of petroleum dealers and petrol pump associations.
