OGDCL tests new development well in Sindh

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced on Thursday that it successfully tested a new development well in C-Sands of Lower Goru Formation at Dars West-3, located in District Tando Allah Yar, Sindh.

The company shared the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

The E&P said that the well was drilled up to a total depth of 2,100 meters and tested utilising OGDC’s in-house expertise. “During testing, the well produced at a rate of 9.70 MMSCFD of gas along with 580 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate at a choke size of 36/64 inches, with a Wellhead Flowing Pressure of 1,725 Psi from the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoir.”

The notice added that the test results reinforce the hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoirs in the Dars West area.

“Laying of pipeline is in progress, and upon completion, gas from the well will be processed at the KPD-TAY plant for onward injection into the SSGCL network. OGDCL is implementing modern technological measures, along with agreements with foreign companies to boost daily production in the country. It has signed a key agreement with a French company for modern water injection systems at the Kunner and Pasakhi oil fields. Under this agreement, an increase of nine million barrels of oil and three billion cubic feet of gas in the overall production of the fields is expected, with a projected income of four hundred and sixty million dollars.
