A protest demonstration was staged by the Students of Pashtun Council of Punjab University against the police and administration for arresting its chairman Riaz Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The protesters have been staging the protest since Sunday and it’s been three days they have blocked gate number 1 of the university. The students have declared that the sit-in will continue till the release of the chairman.
As a result, teachers, students, passers-by and other commuters are facing severe difficulties in transportation due to the closure of the main gate. Meanwhile, university administration and police have failed to clear the main gate from the protesters.
It is pertinent to mention here that the police have arrested the Pashtun Council Chairman Riaz Khan for disturbing the law and order situation on the request of the university administration.
