RAW operative among 23 terrorists arrested in IBOs across Punjab

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab, has arrested 23 terrorists, including one RAW terrorist, during 158 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

The RAW terrorist was arrested from Sahiwal. Some of the arrested terrorists were identified as Hidayatullah, Mohammad Mujahid, Tasleem Husnain and Tariqullah.

The Counter Terrorism Department of Multan also recovered explosive material, seven IEDs, 26 detonators, and 48 feet of fuse wire from terrorists.

The CTD also registered 22 cases against these terrorists.

Earlier in May 2026, the Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have foiled a major terror plot by arresting 13 suspected terrorists belonging to various banned organisations during week-long intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across the province.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the department carried out 58 intelligence-based operations in various districts to avert possible terrorist activities.

The operations took place in Lahore, Jhang, Sahiwal, Jhelum, Chiniot, Mandi Bahauddin, and Mianwali.
