Sindh education department declares social media school holiday notification fake

The Sindh School Education Department has clarified that a notification circulating on social media regarding school closures across the province due to expected rains is fake and has no official standing,  24NewsHD TV reported.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the department clarified that no notification has been released regarding school holidays and urged parents and students not to believe baseless rumors.

Officials emphasized that any announcements concerning changes in school schedules would be made only through formal press releases, the department’s official website, and its verified social media accounts.

The clarification comes amid heavy rainfall across parts of Sindh, which fueled speculation online about the closure of educational institutions.

Authorities reiterated that all schools in the province have been operating as per schedule since reopening on August 15 after the summer break.

However, the provincial government did declare a holiday on Wednesday due to excessive rainfall in several areas, a decision that was officially communicated through government channels.

The education department stressed that future updates related to school closures or revised timings, if required, would similarly be issued only through verified platforms.

Parents and students have been strongly advised to remain cautious of misinformation and to rely solely on authentic sources to avoid confusion.
