Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen has said that the peace agreement with the US would be signed by the month-end.
“As per the peace talks between the Taliban and the US both sides will first issue statements ceasing violent operations in Afghanistan and then the peace deal will be signed by the end of this month,” said Suhail Shaheen, the spokesman at Taliban’s office in the Qatari capital Doha.
According to BBC, Taliban sources said statements regarding calling off combat operations are expected in a day or two. “Both sides will also monitor the peaceful lull which will pave way for the signing of the deal, likely to be signed on February 28 or 29 or maybe on March 1,” added the sources.
