Martine McCutcheon declared bankrupt after split from husband Jack Mcmanus

British actress and singer Martine McCutcheon, best known for her role in EastEnders and the hit film Love Actually, has been declared bankrupt, just months after ending her 18-year relationship with musician Jack McManus.

The 49-year-old actress filed for insolvency earlier this year, official records show, due to an unpaid debt to finance firm LDF. The bankruptcy order was issued in March at the County Court in Guildford under her married name, Martine McManus.

Her financial woes escalated shortly after selling the family’s five-bedroom Surrey home for £1.35 million in January. The property had been on the market since May 2024, with a reduced asking price amid their separation.

This is McCutcheon’s second bankruptcy; the first was in 2013 due to £187,000 in debts, including unpaid taxes. Although she was discharged the following year, she now faces another financial setback as her music company, Raven Music Ltd, was also recently dissolved due to HMRC tax defaults amounting to over £175,000.

Despite the turmoil, McCutcheon has kept a brave public face. On social media, she shared cheerful moments with her son Rafferty, including boat rides and family picnics. Yet privately, the star has battled mental health challenges, revealing in a recent interview that she suffered panic attacks and struggled with undiagnosed ADD.

In her emotional Instagram statement last year, she confirmed the end of her marriage: “Jack has decided it’s best for us to separate after 18 years together, and I accept his decision.”

Sources close to McCutcheon say she is treating this as a fresh start and remains hopeful about rebuilding her career and life.
