The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has continued loadshedding in Karachi in summer too and it has been announced that the gas supply will remain suspended to industries in Sindh including Karachi Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.   

SSGC said the gas supply will remain suspended from 8am to 8pm for industry and Captive Power.

SSGC said that a low gas supply is being received from various gas feeders. However, the gas regulator for South said Pasakhi Gas Field has been closed for annual inspection and there is now 177 MMCFD gas shortfall.

SSGC vowed to restore supply from the gas field as soon as the annual repair was completed. 

CNG stations will also remain closed from Thursday night to Monday 8am, SSGC spokesperson said. 

Earlier, Site Association of Industry (SAI) had expressed concern over the non-supply of gas to the industries of the Site Area.

SAI President Abdul Hadi said that the SSGC had suspended the gas supply to the industries and gas crisis had intensified resultantly production activities coming to a halt.

He demanded the restoration of the gas supply to the industries at the required pressure so that the production activities could be resumed.
