337 security men and citizens martyred in KP terrorist attacks in 2024

As many as 337 personnel of law enforcement agencies (LAEs) and citizens were martyred while 616 injured in terrorist attacks carried out by banned organizations in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa this year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to a Counter-Terrorist Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) report, during 2024 most 103 police personnel have so far been martyred while 154 were injured.

Dera Ismail Khan suffered most casualties of police and security men which was 63 while Bannu suffered 58, North Waziristan 50 and South Waziristan 38, said the CTD report.

The report further revealed that 29 security personnel were martyred in Bajaur, 22 in Khyber, 18 in Peshawar and 16 embraced martyrdom in Kurram district.

The CTD report stated that 11 security men were martyred each in Malakand and Mardan, 10 in Kohat, 8 in Dir, two in Mohmand and one security personnel was martyred in Hazara district.

According to the CTD report, during 2024 49 FC personnel were martyred and 124 were injured.

Terrorists also martyred four politicians and injured another two in attacks in Bajaur and North Waziristan.

Around 25 police personnel were martyred and 23 were critically injured in Dera Ismail Khan which were the highest numbers, while 23 police personnel were martyred and 20 were injured in different terrorist incidents in Bannu, the CTD report concluded.
