Factory making substandard milk seized in Sahiwal

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has lodged a first information report (FIR) against the owner of a factory and three other persons for manufacturing substandard milk and seized powder, oil, chemicals and machinery in Sahiwal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Punjab Food Authority Director General Mohammad Asim Javed said that after receiving credible information from vigilance teams, a PFA team raided the factory and recovered 900 kilos of whey powder, 400 liters of oil, 27 kilos of unhygienic chemical drums, and other machinery from the factory located in Sahiwal.

PFA DG Asif Javed said that 150 liters of the mixture, which was used to prepare 1,000 liters of milk, was destroyed on the spot.

He said that the accused planned to sell this unhygienic milk at locations in Sahiwal. The DG said that substandard milk is an enemy to human health, and strict action must be taken to root out this menace from the society.
