FBR extends deadline for sales tax and federal excise returns till Sep 25

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for sales tax and federal Excise returns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Deadline for filing August 2026 returns has been extended.

Sales tax and federal excise returns can now be filed until September 25, 2026.

Extension applied to all taxpayers. The condition is that the sales tax due has been deposited on time.

Extension has been granted under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act.
