Five people, including three kids, found dead at Karachi flat

Bodies of a man and his wife, as well as their three children, stated to be several days old, were found from a flat in Karachi’s Ahsanabad locality on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Police and rescue teams reached the site and shifted the bodies to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Dr Umar, who worked at a hospital in Ahsanabad, his wife and three children.

Police said the exact cause of deaths would only be ascertained after the post-mortem of the bodies.

However, it appeared to be an incident of poisoning or gas leakage, the Force said, adding there were no marks of torture on the bodies.

SSP East, who reached the site, said that the police were investigating the incident from different angles.

He said that the flat was situated on the seventh floor. “Last time, the family was seen on Thursday,” he said, adding the family was embroiled in financial problems as he had borrowed money from several people.

Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar sought a report from the concerned officials.

Also on Sunday, bodies of two children were found from a trench at a brick kiln in Gujrat.

According to reports, the kids were between three and five years of age, and they were identified as Abdur Rehman and Muhammad Shafay.

Rescue 1122 staffers pulled the bodies out of the trench and shifted them to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital.
