Lightning strikes kill four in Sindh

Heavy rains on Friday inundated interior Sindh including Hyderabad. Four people, including a father and son, were killed as lightning struck in Tharparkar. Power supply from 190 feeders in Hesco region was also suspended.

According to details, heavy rains in Hyderabad have inundated low-lying areas with roads completely submerged and power supply also suspended.

Rains in Tharparkar became a nuisance for its citizens as lightning struck a house in Dodi village and killed the father and son living inside. Two more people were killed in a lightning strike in Chachro while several cattle were also killed in Kloi.

Umerkot, Khapro, Kandyari, Kanri and Daulatpur had heavy downpours and strong winds while Nawabshah, Dadu, Tando Allahyar, Lasbela, Mirpur Khas, Shahdadpur, Sanghar, Tando Adam, Thatta and other areas also flooded.

The rains tripped 190 feeders in Hesco region, disrupting power supply in several districts.

Meanwhile, a short spell of rain in Karachi has submerged the city with water accumulated in areas including Nazimabad, Buffer Zone, Central District and Liaquatabad.
