It’s curtain for PTI govt, predicts PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday ridiculed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s taking notice of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) dismal performance in the local bodies’ (LBs) elections held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) a day before yesterday (Sunday, December 19) by congratulating him on at last waking up to his party’s position in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was of the view that the setback the ruling party had suffered in the LBs elections was a prelude to its complete downfall.
He again mocked PM Imran, saying that all his life he begged people for donations. “And now he has asked the nation to do the same,” he added.

Ahsan said that Imran Khan had made tall claims before becoming the prime minister. “And now he has taken a U-turn on all these promises,” he said, and added, “The country’s economy lies in ruins due to this ‘selected’ prime minister’s policies.”
The PML-N leader further said that for the past three and a half years, the ‘selected’ and his government had been doing nothing but victimization of their political opponents. “I wish the party had delivered even one per cent on the promises it had made to the nation before coming to power,” he said.
He went on to say that the presently there was a severe gas crisis in the country. “We had predicted that three months ago, because we knew that the government had not placed orders for the import of gas prior to the start of winters. But sadly the ministers and PTI leaders did not take our warning seriously and made fun of us,” he regretted.
He accused the government of leaving people at the mercy of hoarders and profiteers. “That’s why, the party has suffered a blow in the LBs polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP),” Ahsan commented.
He said it was unfortunate that despite the fact that the PML-N had repeatedly asked the PTI government to convene the meeting of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) after India snatched special status from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the government did nothing on that front.
