Alert cops beat back terror attack on Peshawar post

The policemen beat back an attack by terrorists on a checkpost in Peshawar late Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The militants armed with heavy weapons targeted the Achini police post in the dark of the night but they were surprised by the retaliation of the alert cops manning the post.
The attackers, however, managed to escape from the scene due to the pitched darkness.
A heavy police contingent though launched an operation to hunt down the attackers but could not succeed due to the darkness.
