Today is the last day for the submission of nomination papers by the contestants going to take part in the 11th general elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The candidates all day long continued to submit their nomination papers. AJK Prime Minister and President PML-N in AJK, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan submitted his nomination papers with the district returning officer. 

Mr Farooq submitted his nomination papers for two constituencies: LA 32 and LA 33. 

The elections for the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir would be held on July 25. The AJK polls will be held in 53 constituencies including 12 constituencies in Pakistan where Kashmiri refugees reside. 

The candidates belonging to Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz-AJK), Pakistan People’s Party (AJK), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (AJK), candidates from other political parties and independents submitted their nomination papers. 

Khawaja Farooq Ahmad, Basit Qureshi, Sardar Mukhtar Khan, barrister Syed Iftikhar Ali Gilani and others filed their nomination papers in Muzaffarabad division LA 28.
