Karachi transporters raise commuting fare

After a recent surge in petroleum prices, transporters in Karachi have also increased transport fare in the metropolitan city raising the minimum fare of one station from Rs15 to Rs20, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Reportedly, the Karachi transporters have hiked commuting fare from Neepa to Sadr from Rs20 to Rs30, while the fare for Tower stop has increased from Rs40 to Rs50.
The price of public transport ticket from New Karachi to Teen Hatti has surged from Rs30 to Rs50.
The QuingQi rickshaw drivers were not left behind. They too have raised their fare. They are charging Rs30 as minimum fare while they have fixed Rs80 as fare from New Karachi to Teen Hatti. They are charging Rs60 from Qayyumabad to Korangi No5.
The inflation-stricken people have expressed their annoyance over the recent increase in the public transport fare and rejected it.
