Local police have registered a case against unknown persons for murdering Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Raja Rauf, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The case has been registered on the complaint of the daughter of the deceased. According to the first information report (FIA), five gunmen entered the house of the PML-N leader and held the family hostage.

The armed person snatched gold ornaments and over Rs500,000 cash, the report said, adding that the gunmen took the PML-N leader with them to secure their escape and drop him on GT Road in critical condition.

The Federal Minister of Interior has taken notice of the incident of murder and sought a report as asked for a report from the police.
