Punjab Inspector General Police Faisal Shahkar has been playing with the provincial government and the centre, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

He has been cashing in on the tussle between the PDM coalition federal government and the PTI ruling brass in Punjab.    

On one hand, Shahkar is playing the role of the Punjab top cop enjoying all the powers and on the other, he is busy winning praise from the centre through airing rumours about his difference with the Parvez Elahi government.  

IG Punjab is implementing the orders received from the chief minister's secretariat passionately.   Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi also issued an order to fulfil all the demands of IGP Shahkar.

In the recent police conference held at the Secretariat that was arranged by IGP Faisal, an order was also issued to approve and fulfil the departmental demands of the Police. The Chief Minister also praised the IG Punjab in good words.

According to police sources, a summary of the names of three DIGs for RPO Gujarat was also prepared. DIG Agha Yusuf, Akhtar Abbas and Tariq Rustam Chauhan were included. Soon the Chief Minister of Punjab will conduct their interviews. IG Punjab has so far obeyed all the orders of the Chief Minister's Secretariat, only the transfer of one officer has not been implemented due to negative reports.
