NCCIA arrests suspect in hacking data case

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Sunday conducted a successful raid in Peshawar and ‎arrested a man allegedly involved in hacking social media data, reported 24NewsHD TV.‎

According to officials, the operation was carried out at the request of the Iraqi Embassy.‎

‎‎The accused, Mustafa Khan a resident of Peshawar was arrested near the Pak-Afghan border. The accused was ‎trying to flee the country.‎

The official said that the social media and WhatsApp accounts of an Iraqi family were hacked and personal data ‎was obtained. ‎

The accused issued serious threats of murder and warned of making the family’s personal data public if ransom ‎was not paid.‎

Authorities further said that a fake account was created in the name of a minor girl, and sensitive information was ‎shared through it.‎

A case has been registered against Mustafa Khan and further investigation is underway.
