LHC disposes of contempt plea against CCPO Kamyana

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday disposed of a contempt plea filed against Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana after three years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, a woman, Ayesha Bashir, filed a contempt of court petition against CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana in 2023.

Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Justice Aliya Neelum heard the case. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sabzazar also appeared in the court.

Assistant Advocate General Waqas Umar presented a report filed by the CCPO. The petitioner approached the court in 2024 against harassment by the Lahore police.

The law officer also informed the court that an agreement was reached with the petitioner. He said that the police did not harass the woman.

On Saturday, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that there was zero tolerance for corruption and no form of misconduct will be tolerated in the police department. 

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to review the performance of Model Town and Cantt divisions.
