18 terrorists arrested in intel-based operations across Punjab
The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 18 terrorists during 117 intelligence-based operations carried out in different cities across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A CTD spokesman informed media men on Saturday that the operations were conducted in Lahore, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha and Multan.
The CTD personnel also seized weapons, eight detonators, five feet prima card, prohibited stickers, books, cash and 13 feet protective fuse wire from the possession of the terrorists.
Some of the apprehended terrorists were identified as Hassan Abbas, Hanif, Samiullah, Hasnain, Atta, Bilal and Shahzad.
The CTD officials said the terrorists wanted to spread terror in the cities by carrying out attacks.
The CTD spokesman said during this week 3,357 combing operations were carried out, during which 121,433 persons were questioned and 274 suspects were arrested.
