On the requisition of the Opposition, Senate has been summoned to meet on December 30, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani summoned the session of the upper house of the parliament at 11.00am on December 30 (Wednesday).
Many fireworks are expected in the upcoming session of the upper house following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement to move the Supreme Court for direction on the early holding of the Senate elections due in March, though the Opposition had expressed their annoyance to the Prime Minister’s announcement and vowed to oppose it.
Another issue that is likely to keep the Senate session hot is the news conferences of the Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala who vowed to summon NAB officials for their, as he claimed, illegal functions.
